Summer Medical Institute 2007 - Life at SMI
The Christian community we experience at SMI is a precious opportunity for burned out grad school students. Everyday life at SMI includes outreaches, getting ready for these outreaches, and teaching. We had the opportunity to learn from several Christians doctors and staff. The team learned and practiced incorporating the Gospel into their life and practice.

Right: Summer at SMI wouldn't be complete without the almost daily Walmart runs. It takes a lot to run four outreaches a week, and our students are able to gain a glimpse of what it takes to manage an aspect of the project.
Below: Jerry and Sarun perform Banghra, traditional Indian dancing, at the Sister's Appreciation dinner. The sisters really appreciated the dancing, music, encouragement, and delicious breakfast made from scratch!

Above: After a busy day, the lounge was the place to be for games, good discussions, and spontaneous worship sessions.
Left: We had a wonderful and unexpected opportunity to love our neighbors, and present work with local churches to present the Gospel to many youth who were sharing our campus. There was an overwhelming response, and pray that God will grow and many seeds that were planted that night. |
