A Room With a View

Sandy Cove Conference Center's view of the  Chesapeake Bay was wonderful. Despite the cold weather, some chose to take brief walks along the shore.

Praise and Worship

The group of doctors and medical students (and one engineering spouse) led us in a time of worship and adoration before each session. We also had an informal worship period during free time, when the band took requests from the audience.

A Record Turnout

Including children, we had about 250 people who attended this year's CMDA/MCO Northeast Regional Winter Conference. New York was well represented, as was Philadelphia, D.C., and almost every exit on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Babysitting

There was babysitting available for sleeping impaired parents. We went from 6 kids last year, to almost 20 this year. With the boom in kids, we hope to expand the availability of child care in the future.

Bonding in Small Groups

Small groups met each day to discuss what God was teaching them at the conference, and in life. Groups were made up of people from different schools or hospital in the same region. Many new relationships were formed, and acquaintances strengthened into friendships.

Mud Football

This year's co-ed football was especially muddy, and perhaps that much more fun. Here they cleaned off enough to enter the conference center.

Mmm Mmm Good

Meal time was a relaxing time, eating to our heart's content and chatting with new friends.

Esperanza Health Center

Dr. Bryan Hollinger represented Esperanza, a Christian clinic in North Philadelphia. Deeply involved in the establishment of Esperanza were this year's speakers, Drs. Ron and Carolyn Klaus. Visit them on the web, at www.esperanzahealthcenter.org

Valley Baptist Family Practice

Valley Baptist's Family Practice Residency Program sent a herd of cows to help represent their home in Harlingen, Texas. Along with Dr. Doug and Stephanie Brower and baby. They are deeply involved with Summer Medical Institute's five week mission trip to Texas and Mexico each summer. Visit their fun site at www.vbfpr.com.

In His Image

Representatives also traveled from Tulsa, Oklahoma from In His Image, a Christian Family Residency Program. They presented a video on their trips to Indonesia, where they provided medical services to tsunami survivors. To find out more about their exciting program, visit www.inhisimage.com.

Free Books!

We had a table stacked with free medical and Christian books for anyone to take. We may implement a "swap table" next year. It's a great way to pass on a book that you have really enjoyed.

Jersey Ladies

Though the traditional last night bonfire was cancelled due to inclement weather (the wind was so strong the fire wouldn't stay lit), some small groups were able to enjoy the warmth of fire indoors. Here one of the New Jersey women's small groups spends quality time together. We snacked on unmelted s'mores late into the night.
